First, let’s watch this very suspenseful book trailer for The Woman in Cabin 10…

Upcloseandbookish Rating: 5 stars

” This was meant to be the perfect trip. The Northern Lights. A luxury press launch on a boutique cruise ship.

A chance for travel journalist Lo Blacklock to recover from a traumatic break-in that has left her on the verge of collapse.

Except things don’t go as planned.

Woken in the night by screams, Lo rushes to her window to see a body thrown overboard from the next door cabin. But the records show that no-one ever checked into that cabin, and no passengers are missing from the boat.

Exhausted and emotional, Lo has to face the fact that she may have made a mistake – either that, or she is now trapped on a boat with a murderer…” (Publisher synopsis)

Doesn’t that sound exciting?

My favorite paragraph

I love ports. I love the smell of tar and sea air, and the scream of the gulls. Maybe it’s years of taking the ferry to France for summer holidays, but a harbor gives me a feeling of freedom in a way that an airport never does. Airports say work and security checks and delays. Ports say… I don’t know. Something completely different. Escape, maybe.
Oh, how much I loved this book! Think about it:

The recipe for success

  • A murder mystery
  • Set on a boutique super- luxury cruise liner travelling around the Norwegian fjords
  • The Northern Lights
  • An unreliable narrator
  • The best first chapter that i have read in a long time
  • Suspense literally from the first page

Everything that you need to make you giddy from excitement even before you open it!

                                                                                   Some extra details

The Woman in Cabin 10 is a skillfully crafted “locked room” mystery which, in this case, is a luxury cruise ship during its journey  around the Norwegian fjords. It is for fans of Agatha Christie, like myself,  who love a good, solid mystery with a specific number of suspects, all with alibis. It is also for the readers that read and loved THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN and GONE GIRL especially if you liked the unreliable narrator aspect of the book.

A very entertaining read! It was an instant NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestseller.

Grab your copy   here   or download it here. You can also listen it in Audible, a service i highly recommend especially if your reading time is limited. If you sign up for the 30-day free trial, you can even listen to THE WOMAN IN CABIN 10 and another audiobook of your choice for free!
